Relationship based learning

I can't make kids come to school, it is ultimately up to their families, therefore how can I create a classroom and learning envirnemtn that makes my students want to be at school?

Thoughts-

• ask these at risk students what they like about school
• what do they like to do when they are at school? 
• I need to stop using outside issues as an excuse for children's learning issues
• Conversations with colleagues need to have a greater emphasis on positivity.
