This term I revamped my reading programme and allowed children to choose their independent learning task during reading time based upon a list of learning priorities I have chosen.
After the initial hiccups of having children write their own plans the children have responded really well.
The children are on task and enjoying the freedom that choice offers. I have noticed that I am having to redirect off task children less and the social issues are minimal.
